How to participate

Take some
new measures.
Benchmark your income data against the 2008 national averages HERE

The Bentleys 2009 National Aged Care Financial Survey provides you with access to data and benchmarking that will allow you to accurately measure the financial and operational performance of your service/s. You will be able to compare your service/s to others of similar size, type, location and residence mix and pinpoint areas where you can improve your business results.

Data Entry The 2009 Bentleys National Aged Care Financial Survey will collect two levels of data:

Level 1: 'Balance Sheet Health Check' : Phase 1 now closed

This level of analysis requires data from the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 General Purpose Financial Report of your service/s. Large groups with multiple facilities may reference data from notes within their Balance Sheets.

Once collated, this data will provide analysis on a range of financial indicators, including:

  • Liquidity and Solvency;
  • Gearing;
  • Accommodation Bonds;
  • Financial Performance; and
  • Capital Investment.

The ratio analysis provided through this information builds upon the 2006 CAP Ratio Analysis (conducted by Bentleys in conjunction with the Department of Health and Ageing) and will provide a top-line assessment of your financial 'health' compared to others. It will also provide a snapshot as performance across the industry to give you a financial 'barometer' for your service/s

Level 2: Benchmarking data entry - from Profit and Loss Statements:

Information and data for a range of operational and financial aspects will be collated, including:

  • Ownership type;
  • Accommodation bonds data;
  • Accreditation status;
  • Detailed profit & loss data;
  • Operating income data;
  • Staff hours and wages;
  • Building and occupancy information;
  • Resident statistics; and
  • Carbon management practices.

From the data input, performance drivers will be analysed.

Delivery of results Once information from all participants is collated, the data is analysed following a proven methodology. Findings and analysis will then be prepared. Data will be is supplied to all participating services in downloadable excel format.
