Bentleys Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors are committed
to continuous improvement of our annual survey. We have collected
extensive feedback from previous participants and have made several
enhancements to this year:
- 'Balance Sheet Health Check' – this 'first phase' of the survey
analyses the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 General Purpose Financial
Report data for services. The ratio analysis provided through this
information builds upon the 2006 CAP Ratio Analysis (conducted
by Bentleys in conjunction with the Department of Health and Ageing)
and will provide a top-line assessment of your financial 'health'
compared to others. It will also provide a snapshot of performance across the industry.
- Measurement of greenhouse gas emissions across the industry – includes collation of feedback
and ideas of how services can reduce their carbon footprint
- Adjustments to key data fields – we have allowed greater flexibility in the entry of data.
This will help you to streamline the data collation and entry process from your end (eg. an alternative
to providing wages for each cost centre category has been developed for this year’s survey); and
- Results and interpretation tailored to your needs - feedback from previous participants and
stakeholders has alerted us to the fact that reports and spreadsheets on their own aren’t always enough.
Each aged care service has their own unique circumstances and questions. To address this, we will be
delivering results in interactive forums – such as webinars and workshops - to assist you with the interpretation of the data.
In addition to the enhancements, and in recognition of the important role that aged care services play in our
community - Participation in the 2009 survey is free to providers.
The Bentleys 2009 National Aged Care Financial Survey provides the tools that your organisation needs to
measure performance and identify opportunities for profit growth.
Participating in this year’s survey will assist you to optimise performance in the changing landscape of aged care.
